Training in traditional Jiu-Jitsu develops great all-round fitness, precise technique, and is a lot of fun. Our style includes throws, strikes, joint locks, strangles, use of pressure points and ground-fighting. Classes are conducted at both Clayton and Caulfield campuses. Our club offers this traditional Japanese martial art, with bamboo swords, as not just a way of training physically but also a way of training the mind. Underwater Hockey is a component of the Monash University Underwater Club that offers a competitive angle to the club's activities. Playing Underwater Hockey does not require diving experience or a qualification and the game is simple. A lead puck on the bottom needs to be moved into the opposition's goals. The game is played in a 25 meter pool at a depth of 2 meters, with 6 a side, attired in snorkelling gear, and armed with a playing stick/bat. Monash has a strong social component, but the club is open to a wide range of abilities from beginners to individuals who represent Australia.

We train throughout the week at the Doug Ellis Swimming Pool, at the Clayton Campus. The club engages in the annual Inter-Varsity competitions, as well as com- petitions run by Victorian Waterpolo. In the Division 1 Victorian Waterpolo competition, Monash fields teams in Men's and Women's State League 1 + 2. We also have beginner's teams for men and women, which compete in the Division 2 competition; as well as a very strong junior program for U18, U16, U14 and U12 boys and girls. We provide Monash students with the opportunity to Waterski and Wakeboard for an accessible price and for all skill levels. Regular camps and ski days are run throughout the year. Over summer we run trips on most weekends at a variety of different locations, and over winter we run regular day trips to Hazelwood and Lake Narracan, where we have access to a slalom course and ski jump.
